About the Shore

The name “The Eastern Shore” refers to the peninsula of land extending south from Pennsylvania hosting Delaware, part of Maryland, and part of Virginia. It encloses the Chesapeake Bay on its western shores and is exposed to the Atlantic Ocean to the East, sometimes called the Delmarva Penninsula.

The Eastern Shore’s inhabitants cherish their unique lands and are avid boaters, fishers, and agriculturalists. Kayaking is also popular as the waters are calm and there are many tidal creeks that are too shallow for a boat to explore.

The beaches at Bay Creek are like many of those found up the western coast of the Shore featuring gentle waves and spectacular sunsets on the water. Water sports, fishing, and boating are common hobbies on the Shore.

The Eastern Shore of Virginia is known for it’s fresh seafood and produce. Native oysters, blue crabs, clams, and fishes are most popular.
