Cape Charles, Our Hometown
In 1607, the first colonists who settled at Jamestown sighted the tip of the Eastern Shore peninsula, and named it Cape Charles. Its abundant waters and mild coastal climate were as treasured then as they are today. Over the centuries this special place has hosted dignitaries, railroad tycoons and even U.S. Presidents. Today, Cape Charles is a thriving town with a worldly blend of shops, restaurants, parks and people who have fallen in love with its laid back, coastal style.
Window shop on historic Mason Avenue. Enjoy a play at the restored Palace Theater. Visit a chic tasting room for a local micro-brew. Take in a concert along the waterfront. Get two scoops of your favorite flavor from the local ice cream parlor and share it with your favorite kid. You’ll love discovering Cape Charles with your family—and you’ll feel like you’ve always belonged here.
Cape Charles has a welcoming waterfront and harbor, home to concerts, gatherings and all manner of seacraft. The world-class Oyster Farm at Kings Creek marina is here, too, adjacent to Bay Creek. Dock your boat or go on a chartered adventure on the glistening waterways of the Eastern Shore.
